Tony is blind, & is recognized internationally as an advocate, project director, & performer in the field of Disability Arts. In 2004 he performed a 1 man music & theatre production at festivals in Australia & the USA. He also runs his own successful arts business “Tony Doyle Visions”.

From 1997 to 2002, Tony was Inaugurator and Director of the globally pioneering, Adelaide based, High Beam International Disability Arts Festival.

Tony is a past recipient of both a 2 year Australia Council & Churchill Fellowships to globally research & develop Disability Arts practice, both professionally, & at the community level.

 

 

In 2003, Tony was awarded a Governor Generals Centenary Medal for services to Australian society through the arts.

Tony has been variously playing wind, percussion, samplers & synthesisers for 30 years. He has played in several bands & projects covering a variety of genres including jazz, blues, folk & world music.

He has played in ensembles supporting well known national & international acts such as Fairport Convention, Richard Clapton, Goanna, Margaret Roadknight.

In 2008 - 2009, Tony performed in Liverpool (U.K), Singapore, & various Australian music festivals including Woodford, The National Folk Festival, & the Turning Wave Celtic Festival.
